In order to be good at poker you need to have many different skills. You must bring all of these specific skills together in order to be successful on the casino or online poker tables.

The first thing that is necessary is composure (h)

You must be able to hide your hands and deceive the other players on the table. If you are not composed you will likely give away your hand to your opponents which would lead to you losing.

The second thing that is needed in order to be a successful poker player is intelligence – or rather \”poker intelligence (i)

You may be intelligent in other areas of life but if you lack poker inteligence then high stakes poker is probably not the right thing for you, stick to the free poker games, maybe you\’ll develop it over time (taart)

You need to know when to bluff, when to bet, when to fold, and you will also need to try to get a read on your opponents hand. Intelligence is a thing that is needed for everything that any one would ever do in their lives, but in my opinion it is especially important in poker.

You can win a large sum of money, or lose a large sum of money very quickly. I am assuming you want to win (what normal person doesn\’t?), therefore you must be smart about your game.

The third and most important thing in order to be a good poker player is the ability to have fun :d

You are obviously not going to win every single hand that you play. You may lose a big hand, but you just have to be calm and collected. If you are going to freak out and get mad every hand you lose, then you are not going to be a good poker player.

If you have these three things, then you are probably going to be rather successful on the tables. You will also be able to have a fun game with friends!
